Lindley running to UT-Martin

Andrea Lindley, a standout cross country runner at Farragut High School who was the second-best Lady Admiral finisher during last fall’s Class AAA state meet, signed National Letter of Intent papers with the University of Tennessee-Martin during a brief signing ceremony in the FHS Commons Monday, April 24. “It’s a good school and they have a great cross country team and track team,” the 18-year-old said. In addition to cross country, Lindley said she may also run track, “probably the two-mile (3200-meters) and mile (1600).” As for the classroom, “They had the program I wanted, dietetics.” FHS cross country head coach Kellie Ivens said Lindley “is an excellent motivator for other runners ... very outgoing and always positive, always laughing, bubbling, and enjoying life. And because she takes that attitude towards things, I think she’s going to succeed in anything she does.”
