ē Nandi Ayana Wallace, a Farragut Middle School honor student, was selected as a finalist to compete in the Tennessee American Miss Preteen Pageant to be held in Nashville on July 7. Winner of the pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award and cost of air transportation to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland. Wallace is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Weldon Wallace of Knoxville. She is active with the Girl Scouts, a member of the Knoxville Jazz Company and the Farragut Middle School dance team. Wallace is a member of the Angela Floyd School for the Dancerís kickline team and has participated in various parades in the community. Some of her other interests include basketball, softball and cheerleading.

ē Almost 600 Roane State Community College students made the deanís list for spring semester 2006. To be eligible, a student must attain a 3.5 grade point average while attempting 12 or more semester hours. Area students making the deanís list include: Alexander Jonathan North, Cindy Gates, Christine M. Hogan-Webster, Mikeong Migyung Kim, Patrick Marshall Matt, Allison Jean McCown, Salley Anne Nelson, Laurie King Stone, Teddy Strunk, Manoj Madhukar Tendolkar, and Sidney Andrew Wykle.
