Webb softball standout Montgomery signs with Tech

Webb School Lady Spartan standout softball player Emily Montgomery signed with Tennessee Tech during a ceremony outside Webb’s Lee Athletic Center May 18. The third baseman earned three Webb School athletic awards for the 2006 season: Best Defensive Player, the Spartan Award and the Captain’s Award. “She plays with class and passion,” said Dennis Ray, Lady Spartan varsity softball head coach, “and is a terrific example for any young player looking for a role model.” Montgomery is seated alongside her parents, David and Jill Montgomery.
