• PAYNE, Dr. Melissa L.
35, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Knoxville, died tragically in Hermitage Sunday, July 16, 2006. Funeral services were Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro with Chris Gaither and Matthew Harding officiating. Graveside services were at Lynnhurst Cemetery in Knoxville. Melissa is survived by her son, Forrester Ryan Payne, age 11, of Murfreesboro; and daughter, Anna Marie Catherine Payne, age 6, of Murfreesboro; and her mother, Marcia Harding of Knoxville. She also is survived by her brother, Matthew Harding of Clinton, Miss.; her father, Isaac Harding Jr. of Knoxville; former husband, Jeff Payne of Smyrna; dear friend, Chris Peercy, Mt Juliet; and many family and friends. Melissa was a faithful follower of Christ, a devoted mother and a passionate veterinarian at Animal Care Veterinary Hospital in Murfreesboro. Melissa was a member of First Baptist Church, Smyrna, though raised at Central Baptist Church, Bearden. She will be dearly missed by all those who love her most. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to the “Free in Christ” trust fund for Forrester and Anna Marie Payne at Suntrust Bank. • McNUTT, Helen Doughtery
1929-2006, of Farragut went home to be with the Lord Sunday afternoon, July 16, 2006, at her home. Helen was a member of Grassy Valley Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was retired as a Watson’s Corporate Office employee and was a former employee of Revco. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Clayton; stepfather, Dewey Clayton; daughter, Karen Elizabeth McNutt Hannah. Survivors: husband of 58 years, Kenneth McNutt; daughter, Kimberly McNutt Barnes and husband, Eugene; special friends, Ginger Chapman, Wanda Kimbrough and Gloria Russell. The family received friends Tuesday at Grassy Valley Baptist Church with funeral services following with the Rev. Wayne McMillian and the Rev. Bruce Robinson officiating. The Victory Sunday School Class served as honorary pallbearers. Family and friends gathered Wednesday at McMinn Memory Gardens in Athens for graveside services. age 76, of Albuquerque, N.M., went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, July 12, 2006. Christine was a member of the St John’s United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed. Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Giddings; son, William James Giddings. Survivors: daughters, Virginia Loree Gallagher of Ariz., Robin Linn Justice of Los Lunas, N.M., Danelle Jo Bashore of Pine, Colo., Dawn Elizabeth Giddings of Kingston; son, Robert Duncan Giddings of Denver, Colo.; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. • CASALE, Anna Bollettieri
age 88, of Knoxville, formerly of Utica, N.Y.,  passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 11, 2006,  at Baptist West Hospital. Anna was a former member of Church of the Blessed Sacrament and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Utica. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved to cook and please her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rocco and Maria Bollettieri; husband, Arthur S. Casale;  brother, Joseph Bollettieri; sisters, Carmella Russo and Nancy Colacicco. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Carmie and Raymond Givonetti of Farragut, Maria and John Kazmarski of Ellington, Conn.; grandchildren, Renee Givonetti Harold  of Knoxville, Dr. Lori Givonetti and husband, Dr. Barry Knapp, of Virginia Beach, Va., Lisa Givonetti and husband, Robert Waltz, of Knoxville, Kelli Kazmarski and husband, Colin Benjamin, of Newport, Vt., Kris Kazmarski and husband, Sean Fowler, of Mapleton Depot, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Shannon, Jacob, Adam, Lucas, Auguste, Sydney, Zane and Zebulan; several nieces and nephews of Utica. • ALBERT, Nancy Hays
age 75, of Knoxville, formerly of Fairfield Glade, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 16, 2006, at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice in Knoxville. Nancy was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and was a graduate of Walkerville Collegiate High School in Windsor. She graduated from Hotel Dieu Hospital School of Nursing in 1953 as a registered nurse. Nancy had a career as a nursing supervisor the last 17 years with the State of Michigan at Hawthorn Center in Northville, Mich. She was a member of the Church of the Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in Knoxville and a former member of the St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church in Fairfield Glade. Nancy was a member of the Fairfield Glade Ladies Club and Garden Club. She was an avid dog lover and gardner, with a perpetual green thumb. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Violet Hays. Survivors: husband of 51 years, Hank Albert; sons, Paul Albert and wife, Laura, Reid Albert and wife, Roseann, and Kirk Albert; grandchildren, Alexandra, Jacquelyn and Nicole; brother, H. Scott Hays; cousins, Roberta Hays and Sarah Lawler; beloved dog, Maya. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Church of the Good Samaritan with the Rev. J. W. Calhoun officiating. A reception will be held in the Great Hall of the church following the service.
