Barn Bats end six-year era on a huge winning note

The Farragut Barn Bats won the 2006 14U AAA USYBA World Series Tournament Champion-ship in extra innings against the Knoxville Rage at West High School Tuesday, July 4.

The championship game marks the last game the Barn Bats will play as a team, ending an era that began in the spring of 2000 as eight-year-olds.

The Farragut Barn Bats (originally the Farragut Braves) have been coached by head coach Tim Blevins since 2000.

Bringing the Barn Bat era to a perfect ending was the last hit of the game by Grant Blevins, allowing teammate Matt Jones to score the winning run.
