Records, medals for Darby swim sisters


Two Sugarwood Stingray swim team sisters hauled in the medals recently, one of which breaking four city meet records. Jenny Darby, left, an eighth-grader at Farragut Middle School, displays her four gold medals won at the July 23 GKAISA 2006 Championship City Swim Meet finals after establishing four city meet records swimming in the 11-12-year-old girls division. Jenny won the 100-yard free style by breaking a record established in 1998 with a time of 54.54 seconds; the 100-individual medley by breaking a record established in 1998 with a time of 1:03.30; the 50-backstroke by breaking a record established in 2000 with a time of 28.92 seconds, and the 200-free relay breaking a record established in 2003 with a time of 1:49.63. Jenny’s 9-year-old sister, Ashley, a fourth-grader at Farragut Intermediate School, competed in the 9-10-year-old division and earned silver medals in the 100-medley relay, 25-backstroke and 50-free.
