• A discussion session concerning the need for a 2100 student capacity Hardin Valley High School will be available for current and newly elected Knox County Commissioners. The discussion sessions, held in the Boardroom of the first floor of the Andrew Johnson Building, located at 912 South Gay St., will start at 8 a.m. and a second session will start at noon.

• The Tennessee Department of Education is accepting math, science, or foreign language professionals for it fourth Teach Tennessee class. The deadline to apply for the fall class of Teach Tennessee is Friday, September 8. To request an application visit www.tennessee.gov/education/teachtn. • Job placement is up for Pellissippi State Technical College graduates. In 2005 96 percent of “career/technical” graduates accepted jobs in their field of study, or continued their education, according to the latest statistics released by the college’s placement office.The percentage of students who have accepted jobs out of college has increased 1 percent since 2004.
