Knoxville Football Club’s ‘Force,’ ‘Crush’ win state titles

Knoxville Football Club has produced another pair of state champions.

KFC ’89 ‘FORCE’’

After reaching the finals in previous years, the KFC ’89 Force knocked the door down and claimed a state title, winning the U17 girls Division I State Championship in Memphis. Out of 35 tourney games, the Force produced a 25-7-3 record against some of the top teams in the country.

KFC ‘THE CRUSH’ ’91

The KFC (aka The Crush) ‘91 Liverpool team returned to the Division I state tournament this summer to defend their state championship title — with much success.

In five games The Crush did not allow a goal en route to repeating as state champs. During pool play they beat the Memphis Dragons 2-0, Memphis FC 3-0 and TNFC 1-0.

In a repeat of last year’s semifinal game, The Crush beat TUSC Fever 2-0 on their way to winning the title game against the SMSC Lakeway Kickers 1-0.
