Emmett’s winning kick

Emmett Robbins may have won a kicking job with his CBFO football team. This 12-year-old seventh-grader at Farragut Middle School marched out in front of thousands during a second-half break in the action at the annual U.S. Cellular How the West Was Won football game between Bearden and Farragut Friday, Sept. 8, and kicked an extra point to win a contest sponsored by Chick-fil-A, Turkey Creek and Kingston Overlook locations. Saying he “loves chicken sandwiches,” Emmett won 52 chicken sandwiches for his kicking skills. He is pictured alongside the Chick-fil-A cow mascot. “My friends said, ‘You should do it, you’re a good kicker,’” Emmett said as to why he participated. The youngster said he’s a safety and kickoff team player for his 12-year-old CBFO football squad who also sees playing time on offense.
