• Sept. 16: Police were called to a Crystal Brook Lane address in response to a simple assault claim. The victim called for lawful intervention stating her husband had allegedly choked her. Upon arrival, the investigating officers stated they were greeted at the door by the woman’s husband, who said he would get his wife and then proceeded to close the door. The officers advanced and the man refused to let them in. Officers pushed the door open and ordered the man to calm down. The man was uncooperative with officers. The victim told police the suspect had been drinking and was grieving over the loss of a co-worker. The victim stated she had tried to calm the suspect down but he became violent and allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat and began choking her until he realized that she was having trouble breathing. Officers noted the victim had signs of physical abuse — red, inflamed choke marks around the throat and chest.
