Lady SoccerDawgs versus FHS in 4-AAA title match anticipated Thursday
BHS, Lady Admirals breeze to 4-AAA semis after matching five-goal Senior Night victories

Things are clicking at the right time for the state’s No. 9-ranked Bearden Lady SoccerDawgs.

Fresh off an 8-0 win against Heritage in the opening round of the District 4-AAA tourney Saturday, Oct. 14, at BHS’s Bruce Allender Field, Bearden is now taking it one game at a time.

Meanwhile, No.-6-ranked Farragut (16-4 entering the week) got a forfeit win versus William Blount in its 4-AAA opener..

BEARDEN

The Lady Bulldogs (15-1-2 overall record entering the week) got goals from Mary Alex Rochester, Amy Porter, Caroline Lutz, Emily Bithorn, Carrie Dance, Taylor Cravanas, Ashlie Howarth and Brenna Mayfield.

Hannah Rudder, Rochester, Bithorn, Alex Meehan, Lauren Nagel, Kirstie Bodker and Cravanas had assists for a Lady Bulldogs team that outshot Heritage 19-0.

“I feel we are playing great,” Turner said. “If we can keep the intensity level up and play like we have been playing the last few games then I think we should be able to make a run into the post season. It’s just a matter of how bad our team wants it.”

To reach the district title game and a likely rematch versus Farragut at 7:30 p.m. tonight at FHS, the Lady SoccerDawgs had to beat Maryville Oct. 17 (after press deadline) in the semifinals.

Bearden closed out its regular season with a 5-0 Senior Night win versus Knoxville Catholic Oct. 12. Seniors Rudder (two goals), Rochester (goal and an assist) and Meehan (two assists) led the way. “Mary Alex Rochester and Amy Porter had a great game. Hannah Rudder especially has been playing exceptionally well the last two games,” Turner said. Bithorn and Cravanas also scored, and Bithorn and Aurora Tacey added assists.

FARRAGUT

In a 6-1 Senior Night win Oct. 12 versus Soddy Daisy, FHS got two goals and two assists from Casey Ulrich. Mindy Hopkins, Kathleen Jarvis, Whitney Newby and Sarah Miller also scored. Alyssa Dresen and Hopkins also added assists.
