• Farragut’s town limits are completely insignificant when it comes to zoning any Knox County high school. Farragut has deemed itself a total null when it comes to educating children living in this area. Knox County citizens should not incur a single dime [of] additional cost pandering to Farragut residents and their perceived sense of community.

• The town of Farragut needs to pay attention to their stop signs, they’re not there for decorations. In the past four days that I have been in Farragut — I have been out of town — I have had at least five cars, every day, pull out in front of me without stopping at a stop sign. They are not there for decorations — and this is not kids doing it, this is older adults who pull out and don’t even stop — they’re looking as they pull out. I think this is something that we’re going to have to pay attention to, and not wait until someone dies because of this.

• I live in Kingsgate subdivision, and we were promised when the bank came in that we would get a traffic signal. Now I’m seeing in [Oct. 19 farragutpress issue] they’re getting a traffic signal on Old Stage [Road] and another one up where the new Kroger thing is going in. That is not fair. We want and need a traffic signal.

• Our ancestors fought long and hard so that every person in the United States would have the opportunity, if they were a citizen or became a citizen, to have the right and the privilege to vote. The right and the privilege to vote, and the choice you make with your vote, is personal. No one has the right to tell you how to vote, including and especially your preacher.
