KCHS teams, CAK soccer roll
- Thu, Oct, 26, 2006
While a pair of Knoxville Catholic teams have made state tournament appearances this fall, Christian Academy of Knoxville had its undefeated girls soccer team poised for big things as of press deadline Tuesday, Oct 24.
KCHS VOLLEYBALL
The KCHS Lady Irish (41-7 overall record) are making their second consecutive Class A/AA state tourney appearance. “Going into the week I think we’re going be just fine,” head coach Mike Jones said.
KCHS GOLF
With its region championship at Centennial Golf Course fueled by region runner-up medalist Mike Markiewicz (74) and fourth-place Jack Gillespie, a freshman (75), the KCHS boys golf team went on to finish seventh in its first-ever Class A/AA state tourney last week. “It was a nice year, the kids worked hard,” head coach Colin Moskal said. Lady Irish golfer Katie Letsinger (84) also earned a state trip with a 4th-place region finish.
CAK GIRLS SOCCER
The Lady Warriros ran its unbeaten record to 16-0-2 entering the week following a District 4-A/AA tourney championship secured with a 2-0 win against Catholic. Rachel Denton and Mary Thompson scored for CAK.
