Itís 0-3 for Farragut at state


After winning a state quarterfinals spot, the Farragut Lady Admirals volleyball team went to Murfreesboro but found the going tough.

Farragut (48-12 final record) fell in its three matches in the Class AAA state tournament against Ooltewah (25-12, 18-25, 13-25, 9-25) adnd Franklin (25-17, 23-25, 21-25, 12-25) Wednesday, Oct. 25, and Collierville (25-20, 25-23, 17-25, 22-25, 15-12) Oct. 26.


Senior outside hitter Kelsey Benorden led the Ads with 11 kills and four blocks against the Lady Owls. Junior Amanda Mitchell followed suit with 11 kills and three blocks and senior Lindsey West rounded out the top three with 19 assists.

Benorden stepped up for her team again on Wednesday against the Lady Rebels with 13 service points, seven aces and 19 kills. Benorden had seven straight service points in game one, five of those aces.

Senior outside hitter Eden Watts tallied eight kills, followed by Julia Mathes with six service points and nine assists and senior Kayleigh Zavadil with four kills.

West had a big game to end her high school career versus Collierville with 17 service points, seven aces and 29 assists. Juniors Mitchell and Diana Deer followed close behind with 16 kills, six blocks; and 11 points, three aces respectively.
