CBFO XFL Super Midgets hold off Fulton 8-6 for Knox title

Another championship trophy belongs to CBFO.

The CBFO Super Midgets held their championship game Saturday morning, Nov. 11, against the Fulton Falcons.

A crowd gathered at Bill Clabo Field at Farragut High School in the misty rain to watch a muddy battle between the two teams.

CBFO secured its victory with an 8-6 win over the Falcons, ending its season with a record of 8-1.

“All of the credit goes to these young guys,” CBFO head coach Brad Jones said. “We’ve been out here since June working. It shows all of the hard work they’ve done all year long.”

Both teams got on the board in the first quarter and their defenses kicked in for the rest of the game to make sure neither team would see the end zone again.

Farragut scored on its first possession. The Ads used their running game to get on the board.

Chad Berry handed off to Montrey Hudson who ran it in to the end zone from 50 yards out to give the Ads the lead with four minutes left in the first quarter.

Jordan Patrick ran it in for the two-point conversion.

“We were just going to light up and run at them,” Jones said. “We’ve tried misdirection; we’ve tried everything in the past against them. We knew that if we came out and ran right at them we had the guys here to move them around and that’s what we did.”
