‘Buy In Farragut’ kicks off Nov. 30

Farragut businesses have turned out in force to participate in the town’s “Buy in Farragut” campaign, slated for Thursday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Dec. 3.

“We’ve had a great response,” said Sue Stuhl, Leisure Services director for Farragut. “About fifty-five businesses have signed up to take part in it.”

Deron Little, owner of Seasons Café, is one of the businesses participating in the campaign.

“We joined because we wanted to help support the area and the town,” he said. “This will help the town, but will also help people be exposed to the restaurants who haven’t had the opportunity to taste our cuisine.”

Seasons Café is offering a Sunday brunch special between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. for those customers seeking to buy locally.

“I think the campaign is a great idea,” said Poli Gress, owner of the Tattered Rabbit. “I think the people who live in a community should support local businesses. I’m excited about it.”

Gress said customers visiting her store between Nov. 30 and Dec. 3 would receive a 10 percent discount on all items.

The event will kick off Nov. 30 as the town holds its “Celebrate the Season” event.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, the town will sponsor a Parents’ Day Out, an opportunity for parents of children ages 4-11 to enjoy a private shopping trip while their children play games, make crafts and enjoy movies and snacks at town hall. Staff members will care for the children, Stuhl said.

She said the town staff would exceed any state guidelines in terms of requirements for caring for children.

“No special training or certification is needed for a day out thing like this,” she said. “We

will exceed state ratios for

childcare.”

Other businesses participating in the campaign include Migun, PakMail, Permanent Cosmetics by Ali, Pittsburgh Paints, Premiere Eyecare, Sweetwater Valley Cheese Shop, The Fabric Market, The Oaken Mantel, The Town Framery, Turtleheads Tea and Coffee Company, LLC, United Community Bank, Vanessa Brown’s State Farm Agency, VG’s Bakery, Blue Coast Burrito, Blue Ridge Mountain Sports, Campbell Station Wine and Spirits, China Pearl, Domino’s Pizza, Dwayne Allen Salon, the Eye Group, Farragut Pharmacy, Frame-Smart, FSG Bank, Gables & Gates Realtors, Gander Mountain, Gatehouse Antique Market, Lissa’s Hallmark Shop, The Mattress Place, McDonald’s, Michael F.
