Farragut businessman Burleson named TSSAA District 2 ‘Contributor of Year’
- Thu, Nov, 23, 2006
Farragut businessman Randy Burleson was named “Contributor of the Year” by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association for the Second Athletic District (11-county, central East Tennessee area).
The honor was among the annual A.F. Bridges Awards presented during a gathering of TSSAA officials at Central High School Nov. 6.
Owner of EdisonPark Steakhouse and a chain of Aubrey’s among other restaurants, Burleson earned the honor “for his outstanding contributions,” said Michael Reynolds, Farragut High School principal and TSSAA Legislative Council representative for the Second Athletic District.
“Although it’s an award for sports, he goes far and above that with all school programs in communities where his restaurants are,” Reynolds added.
The FHS principal said Burleson was nominated by a TSSAA Second Athletic District Citizenship and Sportsmanship committee, and voted on by a TSSAA State Selection committee.
