AquaDogs win Bristol Relay meet


It was almost a clean sweep for the Bearden High School AquaDogs swimming and diving team during the Tennessee Relay Carnival Nov. 17-18 in Bristol.

Led by Tara Fentress, named Queen of the Pool, and Andrew Frost, who earned King of the Pool honors, the AquaDogs won the combined championship with 581 points versus runner-up Sullivan South’s 407 among a seven-team field.

Among the girls, BHS won going away, 351-194 versus runner-up Sullivan South.

South managed a 197-193 edge in the boys competition.

A top finish in Mixed Events for BHS came in the 100 yard Medley Relay, at :53.19, from Chad Vaughn, Jenny Franklin, Frost and Fentress.

Hogan; 100-backstroke relay,1.00.76, Eric Mcgee, Ben Hamill, Jon-Michael Craze and Francisco Sanchez; 400-individual medley, 4.17.30, Jonathan Rudis, Danelle Maxwell, Robert List, and Alex Depue; 100-free relay, 44.81, Garrett Thomson, Sam Blount, P.J. BHS diving champions were led by Queen of the Board, Tori Lamp: mixed diving relay, 208.95, Lamp/ Kurtis Allen; Girls 1 meter diving relay, 203.60, Ruth Hahn/ Lamp; Boys 1 meter diving relay, 140.85, Allen/ Lamp.
