- Thu, Dec, 14, 2006
Caroline Winstel, a two-time All-District 4-AAA outside hitter for the Bearden High School Volleyball team, signed National Letter of Intent papers with Tusculum College, Greeneville, Nov. 13 at BHS. “She’s done nothing but improve since she’s been here,” BHS head coach Jennifer Allen said of Winstel, 17. “She’s an extremely hard worker. ... She’ll be successful because of that. She’s a great outside hitter. ...” Angela Swider, head coach of the Smoky Mountain Juniors Volleyball Club who was on hand for the signing, said Winstel has “really improved her passing.” Winstel said she’s “really excited” about Tusculum. Seated beside Winstel is her mother, Beth Winstel. Standing, left to right, are Rob Winstel, father, and coach Allen.
