Little to toss for C-N


Drake Little, Bearden High School senior standout pitcher, signed National Letter of Intent papers with Carson-Newman College, Jefferson City, during a ceremony in the BHS East Mall Nov. 15. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound 17-year-old, who is expected to be the Bulldogs’ staff ace during the 2007 season, “Came on strong” during the end of the 2006 season, BHS head coach Matt Buckner said. “He continued that through the summer, really physically matured, velocity improved. Probably has the best stuff on the team. We expect some huge things from him this Spring.” Little earned All-TBCA Region I/II Showcase Team honors during summer league play.
