Raby off quickly as King rookie

As a true freshman starting point guard from day one at King College (Bristol), Beth Raby has made a quick transition.

“It has been a big transition, the games are a lot faster, the guards are a lot quicker, defense is a lot harder, guarding the quicker players,” said Raby, comparing her days as a former Farragut Lady Admiral standout point guard to college. “My role is a lot different, learning a new system and everything.”

While Raby is averaging 8.1 points per game — second on the team — and team-leading 2.46 assists per contest in 13 starts, her Lady Tornado team is 9-4 overall, 3-1 in the NAIA Appalachian Athletic Conference.
