Cook, Wright marry in Lenoir City
Melissa Louise Cook, daughter of James and Roberta Cook of Augusta, Ga., and Derek Taylor Wright, son of Danny and Nancy Wright of Knoxville, were married Saturday, July 1, at The Magnolia Manor in Lenoir City.

The Rev. Jared Raby officiated, and Tommy Cook led the exhortation.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ruth L Thornton of Santa Maria, Calif., and the late Ray L. Thornton and of Arlis V. Cook of Pineville, W. Va. and the late Mrs. Ethel I. Cook.

A 1992 graduate of Augusta Christian Schools, she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgia College and State University in 2001 and a Master of Education degree in counselor education in 2003 from Georgia Southern University. She is a Knox County Schools counselor.

The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Lois Gillentine and the step-grandson of Joe Gillentine of Kingston. He is also the grandson of Harry Young of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and the step-grandson of Mrs. Virginia Young. Paternal grandparents were the late Oliver Clyde and Cecile Wright of Harriman.

A 1999 Farragut High School graduate, he received a bachelor’s degee in political science from The University of Tennessee in 2003. He is a business development coordinator for Infinity Insurance.

Joel and Heather Harbin of Atlanta, Ga., were the couple of honor. Danny Wright of Knoxville was best man.

Bridesmaids were Lindsey Alley of Knoxville, sister of the groom; and friends of the bride Courtney Berry of Walterboro, S.C., Beth Burnett of Maryville, Wendy Brunson of Atlanta, Yen-Wen Clepper of Suwanee, Ga., Kati Johnson of McDonough, Ga., and Jeanna Slusser of Cumming, Ga.

Honor attendants were Kyra Cook and Sara Raby, both of Knoxvile. Victoria Cook of Atlanta was flower girl.

Groomsmen were J. T. Cook, the bride’s brother; Brandon Alley of Knoxville, Robbie Lockett of Harriman, Brad Brooks of Wake Forest, N.C., Chris Connell and David Hindenlang, both of Knoxville, and John Thurman of Greenville, S.C. Ushers were Michael Shope, Michael Gary and Bryan Fowler, all of Knoxville.

After a honeymoon in the Dominican Republic, the couple now resides in Knoxville.

Sheffey, Driscoll wed in fall rite
Elizabeth Barron Sheffey, daughter of David and Rosella Sheffey of Farragut, wed James Joseph Driscoll III, son of James Joseph Driscoll Jr. and the late Mary Louise Steuterman Driscoll, Saturday, Oct. 14, at Concord United Methodist Church. The Rev. Larry Trotter officiated.

The bride is granddaughter of the late Rodney and Mary Will Sheffey of Elizabethton and the late Louis and Helen Lichtenberg of Cedar Bluffs, Neb. A 1996 Farragut High School graduate, she received a chemical engineering degee from The University of Tennessee in 2000 and an M.D. degree in 2004 from UT’s College of Medicine. She is a resident in anesthesiology at the University of Alabama Hospital.

The groom is the grandson of James Joseph Driscoll of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla., the late Wanda Mae Driscoll and of Mary Miller Steuterman of Memphis and the late George Thomas. A 1994 Germantown High School graduate, he received a degree in finance in 1998 from The University of Tennessee and a master’s in business administration from the University of Mississippi’s College of Business in 2002. He is a Triton Health Systems manager.

Maid of honor was Allison Marie Sheffey of Knoxville. Bridesmaids were Mary Allison Driscoll of Austin, Texas; Beth Russell Gladden and Megan Janel Fields, both of Knoxville; Kathryn Wall Olita of Clarksville, Regan Milsaps Saig of Durham, N.C., and Amy Akard Millslagle of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Jason Paul LaCroix of Memphis was best man. Groomsmen were Zade Thomas Pollock, Stephen Titus Jennings and Daniel Edward Ferguson, all of Nashville; Michael Scott Boone and David Neel Rideout III, both of Memphis, and John Yates Massie of New York City, N.Y. Ushers were Sean Patrick Deeney of Memphis and Jonathan Seth Jennings of Nashville.

Vocalists were Virginia Carroll Herrick and Blake Coleman Valentine, both of Knoxville. After a honeymoon in San Francisco, Calif., the couple will reside in Birmingham, Ala.
