O’Charleys closes

Farragut residents lost a local hangout in October with the closing of the O’Charley’s restaurant on Kingston Pike.

Melissa Thompson, spokesperson for O’Charley’s, said the decision to close the restaurant was made from a business

perspective.

“The restaurant marketplace had changed in the Farragut area,” she said. “With the completion of Turkey Creek shopping center, the market changed in the area.”

Thompson said the restaurant began to suffer from declining sales and a waning interest from town residents.

“We were able to place all forty-two employees of the company at other locations,” she said. “We still retain a strong presence in the West Knoxville marketplace.”
