Mike DiFelice, former Bearden High School standout, Tennessee Volunteers catcher and Major League player, will be the 2007 inductee into the Tennessee Baseball Hall of Fame at the 2007 Leadoff Banquet, Monday, Jan. 29, at the Knoxville Marriott. Guest speaker will be Tommy Lasorda, Major League Baseball Hall of Fame inductee and former manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers. An All-SEC catcher from 1989-91, DiFelice would become the 16th all-time inductee into the Tennessee Baseball Hall of Fame and the 14th former UT player. A catcher with 2006 N.L. Eastern Division champion New York Mets last season, DiFelice has also caught for the St. Louis Cardinals, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Arizona Diamondbacks, Kansas City Royals, Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers during an 11-year MLB career. was a member of my first team here in nineteen-ninety.
