Reveiz 3rd, Farinella 5th at Father Ryan Invitational

Farragut senior wrestler Shane Reveiz, ranked fourth in the state in the 215-pound class, finished third during the annual Father Ryan Invitational Saturday, Jan. 6, in Nashville.

Meanwhile, teammate A.J. Farinella (135) finished fifth as FHS was among a 28-team field.

Two other Admirals, Lawton Johnson (140) and Philip Poplawski (189) each won two matches. Farragut head coach Jason Moorman said his team “did well considering the youth. ... Everyone won a match.”

Reveiz, with a 14-4 record entering the week, lost to eventual champ Davis Dempsey of Father Ryan 6-4 in the semifinals, otherwise “no one really scored a point on Shane the entire tournament.”

Farinella, with a 22-5 record entering the week, won his first three matches before losing to the eventual champ in the semis then lost what Moorman said was a “controversial” 8-7 decision.
