Webb bowling girls 2nd in region; 4 going to state


After a nail-biting 14-13 victory against Girls Preparatory School of Chattanooga in the region semifinals, the Webb School girls bowling team finished second after losing to Baylor 18-9.

Leading the way versus GPS was Lauren Toppenberg’s 167 followed by Maddy McAdams’ 160. Despite losing to Baylor, McAdams bowled 200 followed by Toppenberg’s 157.

Webb has qualified four bowlers for the individuals state tourney, including Toppenberg and McAdams. Girls are Toppenberg, No. 2, 139.85 average; McAdams, No. 7, 124.85, and Lydia Hooker, No. 8, 123.46. The Spartan boy is Jeff Walls, No. 5, 171.21.
