Girl Scout cookies on sale now

Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs and all the other Girl Scout Cookies are better than ever this year. They have the great taste people love, but zero trans fat per serving. Girl Scouts are also offering a new sugar-free cookie. Little Brownies are bite-size squares of chewy chocolate sweetened with Splenda.

Girl Scouts of Tanasi Council’s Cookie Sale began Jan. 19. Deliveries and booth sales begin March 2. The sale ends March 21.

“This event is not just about cookies — it’s about helping girls grow strong,” Lucille Griffo, Tanasi Council CEO, said. “Hearing a customer say ‘yes’ makes a girl’s self-confidence soar.”

“The Cookie Program is a lot of hard work, but it’s worth it,” Girl Scout Amy Dunning said. “It’s great to know that you have the power to earn money to support your troop’s projects and activities.”

Troops use their earnings in many ways, from funding community service projects to paying for exciting field trips. All proceeds stay in East Tennessee.

Girl Scouts across East Tennessee will go door- to-door on March 10 for the Great Girl Scout Cookie Walkabout. The campaign will allow girls to meet their neighbors and become even more active in their communities. To find a Girl Scout selling cookies, call 1-800-474-1912.
