Hill, Thornton plan July wedding
Keith and Karen Hill of Knoxville announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Marie Hill, to Samuel Neal Thornton Jr., son of Sam and Victoria Thornton of Knoxville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Huei and Mary Jane Millsaps of Robbinsville, N.C., and of Jack Hill of Knoxville.

A 2002 Farragut High School graduate, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a major in advertising from The University of Tennessee in 2006. She is employed in marketing with Mastercraft Boat Co.

The intended groom is the grandson of Rosemarie Cross of Cordova.

A 2001 Farragut High School graduate, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in arts and sciences with a major in geography from The University of Tennessee in 2005.

He is now a corporal serving in Iraq with the U.S. Marine Corps and will return stateside in April 2007.

The couple plans a 5:30 p.m. wedding Saturday, July 28, at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church.

After a honeymoon trip to Seaside, Fla., the couple will reside in Knoxville.


McKenzie, Brockman wed in June ceremony
Whitney Meredith McKenzie, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jerome F. McKenzie of Knoxville, married James Adam Brockman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Steve Brockman, Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Concord United Methodist Church. The Rev. Thomas L. Seay officiated.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert D. Kinnaird of Cookeville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm R. McKenzie of Oak Ridge.

A 1996 Farragut High School graduate, she received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from The University of Tennessee in 2000. She is sales development manager for Novartis Animal Health US, Inc.

The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Patricia Sayre and the late Mr. and Mrs. Omer Brockman, all of Lebanon, Ky.

A 1996 Northwest High School graduate, he attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is employed as help desk support supervisor for Novartis Animal Health US, Inc.

Matron of honor was Keri Fox Stickley of Knoxville. Bridesmaids were Alison Grace McKenzie of Knoxville, the bride’s sister-in-law; Stephanie Ann Brockman of Summerfield, N.C., the groom’s sister; Melissa Shea Cobble of Greeneville; Robin Lauren Dayer of Conway, Ark., Jennifer Crenshaw Goolsby of Tyler, Texas, Sarah Elizabeth Hayes of Jamestown, N.C., and Kelly Gay Lamar of Raleigh, N.C.

Best man was Joseph Steve Brockman, the groom’s father.

Groomsmen were Jerome Matthew McKenzie of Knoxville, the bride’s brother; Kevin Jeffrey Cline of Charlotte, N.C.; Kelly Scott Hayes of Jamestown, N.C.; Christopher Charles Maucere and Joshua David Moorhead of Greensboro, Michael William Neiken of Columbia, S.C., and Christopher Todd Nolan of Charlotte.

Providing music were vocalists Sarah Elizabeth Goschy of Nashville and Nicholas Langdon Trotta of Bogart, Ga.; pianist Beverly Kerr and the Dogwood Quartet.

Georgia Lauren Dayer of Conway was flower girl; Drew Christopher Dayer of Conway was ring bearer; Benjamin Michael Crabtree of Cookeville was acolyte, and William Andrew Crabtree of Knoxville read scripture. After a trip to Mexico, the couple lives in Greensboro.


Rion, Wilhoit marry in June 10 ceremony
Loren Elayne Rion, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Rion of Hendersonville, married Michael Scott Wilhoit, son of Dr. and Mrs. Mac Wilhoit of Farragut, at an evening ceremony Saturday, June 10, at Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Chuck Reid and the Rev. Joe Vickers officiated.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Williams of Madison and Mrs. Shirley Rion of Clinton, Ind., and the late Bill and Elayne Rion.

A 2002 graduate of Beech High School in Hendersonville, she graduated from Maryville College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and organizational management. She is employed by Willa’s Shortbread.

The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph B. Conlee of Farragut and Mr. and Mrs. George C. Wilhoit of Greeneville.

A 2000 graduate of Knoxville Catholic High School, he attended Maryville College and is now attending The University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy where he will graduate in 2008 with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Kelsey Rion of Hendersonville. Bridesmaids were Elisa Wilhoit of Farragut, the groom’s sister, Erinn Cunningham of Pulaski, and Angela Pennington and Morgan Finn, both of Hendersonville.

Best man was Mac Wilhoit, the groom’s father.

Groomsmen were Rick Wilhoit of Delray Beach, Fla., and Tim Wilhoit of Farragut, brothers of the groom, Austin Rion of Hendersonville, the bride’s brother, and Beau McGill of Farragut.

Flower girls were Caroline Allen of Mount Juliet, cousin of the bride and Ashlyn and Kiersten Man of Knoxville, the groom’s cousins. Ringbearers were Jeffrey Adams and Carter McCandless, both of Hendersonville.

After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple resides in Memphis.

Eric Thomas Clement, son of Eric and Meghan Clement, was born Nov. 28, 2006, at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. He weighed 5-pounds 4 1/2-ounces and was 19 1/2-inches long.

Raley, Bolen wed at Cokesbury
Jordan Nicole Raley and Robert Dustin Bolen, both of Knoxville, were married recently at Cokesbury United Methodist Church in Knoxville. The Rev. Kevin Atkins officiated.

The bride, daughter of Lynn and Danna Carter and Johnny and Jackie Raley, is a 2005 Farragut High School graduate who teaches at Kiddie Kottage.

She is granddaughter of Linda Scarbrough and Floyd and Mary Lou Raley, all of Knoxville.

The groom, son of Jeff and Jackie Bolen of Knoxville, is the grandson of Ann Bolen and Huey and Billy Pickle, all of Knoxville.

A 2006 Farragut High School graduate, he is employed by the Knox County Highway Department.

Maid of honor was Ashley Nash of Knoxville. Bridesmaids were Jessica Dougan of Powell and Megan Blackburn Samantha Nash, both of Knoxville.

Best man was Jeff Bolen of Knoxville.
