• Evaluations for Farragut Baseball, Inc. are set for the weekend of Feb. 24-25. Tryouts will be held in the Farragut Middle School gym for younger leagues and on the fields for the two oldest leagues. Only registered players should attend. No on-site registration will be available. Evaluation schedule is as follows: Machine Pitch League, 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 24, in the FMS gym; Pee Wee Reese, 9-11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at FB, Inc. Field 4; Sandy Koufax, 9-11 a.m., Sat. Feb. 24, FB, Inc. Field 6; Roberto Clemente, 2-5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, in the FMS gym; Willie Mays, 1-4 p.m., Sunday, in the FMS gym. Rainout day for Pee Wee Reese and Sandy Koufax would be 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 25, at the fields. Players attending evaluations at the school should not wear cleats. • All Farragut Baseball, Inc. coaches should plan to attend a league-wide meeting from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Saturday Feb. 24, in the Farragut Middle School gym. League officials will discuss league policies, schedule of events and plans for the upcoming season. For more information, call 671-8851.

• The City of Knoxville is offering recreational 3-on-3 basketball, indoor volleyball and indoor soccer leagues this spring. Play is set to begin Feb. 26 and continue into May. All games are self-officiated. Divisions are for men, women, middle school, high school and co-ed. Registration forms are available at the Parks and Recreation Department office, 917A E. Fifth Ave., and most recreation centers across the city. Teams will be scheduled on a first-come, first-scheduled basis. Games will typically start at 6 p.m. or later on weekends. • Denise Koessler, former Farragut Lady Admiral standout swimmer, was a part of two winning relay teams for The College of Wooster women’s swimming and diving team in recent weeks. Koessler was a winning leg on the 200-freestyle (1:45.92) versus Grove City College Jan. 20. Against Ohio Wesleyan on the road Jan. 13, Koessler was a winning member of the 400-medley relay team (4:25.01).

• Knoxville Lacrosse spring season registration for new or returning recreational league players (fourth- through sixth-grade boys) will be held 5 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the Farragut Middle School Cafeteria. Knoxville Lacrosse A/B players (seventh- and eighth-grade boys) that missed the January registration may also register at this time. Returning players must have a US Lacrosse membership number valid until May 31, 2007. New players should visit the US Lacrosse Web site — — to join. Recreational league practice will begin Wednesday, Feb. 28, on the field behind Farragut Middle School. Practices will be 6-7:15 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. • Registration for the upcoming USTA League Tennis season in Knox County is in progress for the season beginning March 10. All captains must have their teams registered by Feb. 12. Players are grouped into different ability levels, ranging from beginner 2.0 to advanced (5.0, 5.5 and Open), based on the National Tennis Rating Program. Adult and Senior Divisions offered. Play consists of both singles and doubles or just doubles, as in the Senior Division, with the outcome based on team scoring. League officials will help find you a team. Players must be at least 19 years old. A specific league exists for players beyond age 50.
