Artists prepare for upcoming craft show


Local artisans and vendors will be gathering in Knoxville this weekend as part of the World Bazaar and Craft Show, which runs Feb. 23-25 at the old Knoxville Convention Center.

Were going to have all different types of artisans there, said David Brown, one of the organizers of the event.

The different crafts, he said, are expected to include pottery, various types of paintings, wildlife photography exhibitions, leather items and a host of other crafts.

Were expecting the show to be made up of twenty percent vendors from area stores and sixty percent by local artisans, Brown said.

Parking is free.

Hours for the show will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Frday, Feb. 23; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25.

Brown said he and partners Holly Smiley and Patrick VanRennes helped organize the show.

Wed been to a lot of shows and decided there was a need for a quality show here in Knoxville, Brown said.
