Town releases annual report

Farragut residents are getting information about what has happened in the town during the past year with the arrival of the Farragut 2007 annual report.

“This is a report we put out each February,” said Sue Stuhl, director of the town Leisure Services Department. “We pay non-profit groups, like lacrosse teams, to go out and deliver these magazines to the residents. They earn money and we get the report to all the

residents.”

The report is in a glossy, magazine format and contains detailed information on the town, highlights from the previous year, information on the Board of Mayor and Aldermen members as well as the different committees that serve the town. Photographs of various town functions and features offer a view of different facets of Farragut life.

“I see this as a sort of user’s guide to the town,” Stuhl said. “One section of it contains information of different subdivisions, cost of homes and amenities for certain areas.”

For example, the report shows Kingsgate subdivision has 452 lots with estimated value from $100,000 to $225,000.

“The publication is available all year round,” she said. “New residents come to town hall and get one to find out what opportunities are available to them.”

Stuhl said the magazine is put together by the Leisure Services Department, which acts as the public relations wing of town government.

The first town report came out in 1986 and was published every other year for the next several years.

“I came on board in nineteen ninety-one and we’ve had one every year since then,” Stuhl said.
