Jarvis picks Radford
- Thu, Mar, 15, 2007
Kathleen Jarvis, All-state midfielder for the Farragut Lady Admirals soccer team, signed National Letter of Intent papers with Radford University, Radford, Va., during a brief ceremony in the FHS Commons Feb. 23. “She is very good in the air, and also is a very attack-oriented center midfielder that looks to go forward at every chance,” said Ben Sohrabi, Radford head coach. “Kat is great at playing her forwards behind the back line and has a very powerful shot.” As for why she chose Radford, “I really like all the girls on the team, and I really like the coaches,” said Jarvis, 18, a two-time All-Region 2-AAA and District 4-AAA honoree. “They have a beautiful campus.” Alongside Jarvis are her parents, Liz and Howard Jarvis. Also seated is Juanita Jarvis, grandmother. Standing, left to right, are Adam Starkey, FHS assistant coach; Dennis Lindsay, FHS head coach; club coaches Hans Hobson, Carrie Ollum and Lisa Nix, and Tom Jarvis, brother.
