Floyd, veteran FHS grid historian,

A Farragut High School alumnus known for his decades of hands-on support to FHS football — and knowledge of Admiral grid history — will be honored March 31.

Clyde Floyd, former FHS football player (Class of 1952) and program historian who is a U.S. Navy veteran, will receive the George L. Hunter Distinguished Service Award as presented by the East Tennessee Chapter of The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

Floyd will be honored as part of the chapter’s brunch beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 31, in The Foundry, located on the World’s Fair site in downtown Knoxville.

This event will include Phillip Fulmer, University of Tennessee head football coach, along with state championship coaches from East Tennessee.
