West Valley champs

Among a 12-team field, West Valley Middle School baseballers made some loud noise early in the 2007 season by winning the Bearden High School & Catholic High School Season Opening Middle School Baseball Tournament March 3-4. WVMS won pool play games versus Cedar Bluff and Karns A, advancing to the championship bracket. In the semifinals versus Halls, West Valley won 4-1 Chris Hamilton’s effective pitching. Philip Pfeifer’s no-hitter pushed the WVMS Wolves past Bearden 1-0 in the championship game. At the plate, Ryan Hotz led West Valley with a.750 average for the tournament while driving in the lone championship game run.
