• Farragut High School’s National Art Honor Society chapter will host its annual “Empty Bowls” soup and bread dinner at 6 p.m., Friday, March 30, in the FHS library as a benefit for homeless people fed at The Love Kitchen in Knoxville. • Lipscomb University’s students are packing their Bibles, hammers and work clothes as they embark on 25 mission trips around the globe. These students are among around 500 Lipscomb-related servants headed to 11 countries and eight U.S. cities to practice selfless service March 19-23: Heather Davis, Ashley Gatlin, Miranda Giles, Aaron Hall, Andrew Hall, Trina Hughes, Shelby Kohring, Baker Luck, Christine Perry and Andrew Shankles.

 • Families that wish to send their children to a Knox County School outside their designated school zone may apply for student transfers April 2-20. Transfer request forms are available at students’ zoned schools. Forms are to be completed and left at the school for further processing. Families living outside Knox County that wish to send a child to a Knox County school should fill out a form at the desired school. Transfer forms are valid for only one school year and must be filled out annually. Notification of approved and disapproved applications will be mailed in July. For additional information regarding transfer dates and procedures, contact the Knox County Schools transfer office at 865-594-1503.

• Pellissippi State Technical Community College’s adult education program offers students ages 17 and older free English classes, days or evenings, at Knoxville locations. For details, call PSTCC at 865-539-7109 or 865-329-3176 or visit www.pstcc.edu.
