Harris smart on MTSU
- Thu, Mar, 22, 2007
Emily Harris, Farragut girls soccer All-state defender, signed National Letter of Intent papers with Middle Tennessee State University during a brief ceremony in the FHS Commons Feb. 23. “Very good foot skills, good passer, very good defender, ” FHS head coach Dennis Lindsay said. “Understands the game real well.” Harris, also an All-Region 2-AAA and All-District 4-AAA defender, said she chose MTSU because “the school is pretty good academically ... I’m not an athlete/student, I’m a student/athlete. It gives me all the stuff I need when I go into the real world.” Harris labels the Lady Blue Raiders, “A good, solid soccer program, but so much that it will consume my whole college career.” Sitting alongside Harris are her parents, Mary Sue Greiner and James Harris. Standing, left to right, are club coaches Carrie Ollum and Hans Hobson; Adam Starkey, FHS assistant coach; Lindsay, and Rachel Scalf, FHS assistant coach.
