• Farragut Rotary needs the community’s support for its innaugural All-Star Regional Championship Spelling Bee. The Rotary needs 16 teams of three adults to compete in the contest, as well as several volunteers to help with the event. An entry fee of $300 per team is required and team members must be over age 21. Teams can represent local businesses, organizations, or just be a group of individuals who want to have a good time and help the community at the same time. The All-Star Regional Spelling Champion-ship Spelling Bee will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 12, at East Tennessee Historical Museum in downtown Knoxville. To enroll a team, volunteering or becoming a sponsor, contact Ed Jones at 865-531-8488 or edjones12@charter.net.

• All Shriners in West Knox and Farragut extend thanks to everyone for their support of the Shriners Hospitals for children. Please continue to contribute generously when you see the Shriners at your Food City, Ingles, Kroger’s, Sam’s and Wal-Mart businesses May 14-20 and on the street corners on Sunday, May 20. There are currently 22 North American Shrine hospitals that are currently treating about 1,500 children at our Lexington, Greenville and Cincinnati hospitals. Donations to the paper sale are tax deductible. If you would like to make a donation or have any questions, call West Knox Paper Sales chairman Ray Skiles at 376-0334.
