SoccerDawgs edge Oak Ridge, crush LCHS
Alan Sloan - Thu, Apr, 12, 2007
Despite a 9-1 overall record entering the week — and coming off a win at Oak Ridge — the Bearden SoccerDawgs “still have a lot of things to work on.”
Eric Turner, head coach of the Class AAA defending state champion ’Dawgs, said defense is the focus of concern.
“But they are learning how to win, even when we’re not playing our best game,” Turner added.
Individually, Aaron Schoenfeld “had a great week for us, he’s really starting to come into his own,” Turner said. “Tom Webster had another great week. And Ryan Radcliffe, in the middle of the field, did a good job.”
Beating ORHS 3-2 April 3 in Oak Ridge, Bearden came from 2-1 down with second-half goals from Webster and Cesar Ruiz. Nathan Zivi also scored for BHS. Webster had two assists, Radcliffe one. Bearden held an 8-6 shots-on-goal edge. BHS goalkeeper Bryan Walker had four saves.
