Lady Ads start 6-0 in 4-AAA; no-hitter, 25-run attack key

Remaining perfect in District 4-AAA entering the week (6-0), the Farragut softball team used red-hot bats and opponents’ errors to rack up two key wins.

FHS blanked William Blount 3-0 April 4, scoring three unearned runs in the fifth thanks to four WBHS errors.

Keri Meade bunted to lead off the inning for Farragut (12-3 overall) and reached second on a throwing error.

Morgan Holbrook reached on another error, and with two outs Sarah Young reached on an error to score Meade and Holbrook. Young scored two batters later on yet another error.

Winning pitcher Rachel Ingleby fired a three-hitter, striking out 7. “This was a big win for us,” FHS head coach David Moore said.

The Lady Ads clobbered South Doyle 25-0 on another combined no-hitter, with Ingleby pitching two innings (two strikeouts) and Kristin Murr three innings (three strikeouts).

At the plate, Farragut combined for 22 hits — seven of those doubles — with 21 RBIs.

Sarah Young was 4 for 6 with four runs scored and one RBI; Lyndsey Slade was 4 of 5 with three doubles, two runs scored and eight RBIs.

Chrissy Hannahs was 3 for 3 with a double, three runs scored and four RBIs, while Morgan Holbrook was 3 for 3 with a double, three runs and three RBIs.

Stephanie Harris went 2 for 3 with two runs and a double; Paige Kula was 1 for 2 with three runs and Melissa Eggert was 1 for 1 with 3 runs scored.

Gibbs no-hit Farragut — with Sarah Young the only baserunner after drawing a seventh-inning walk. Ingleby pitched a five-hitter, striking out six.
