More struggles for Bearden softball team
Staff Reports - Thu, Apr, 19, 2007
Bearden’s offense remained near silent, as the Lady Bulldogs dropped a pair of District 4-AAA softball games last week.
A 6-0 setback at William Blount April 10 was followed by a 10-0 home loss to Heritage Thursday, April 12, dropping BHS to 4-14 overall, 4-6 in 4-AAA.
Bearden head coach Gary Mashburn has noticed a trend in Lady Bulldog losses. “I keep telling them that it is a one- to two-to-nothing ballgame late in the ballgame,” he said. “Usually in the fourth or fifth inning it’s usually just a couple of runs difference.
In practice, “I’ve reverted my attention strictly to offense,” Mashburn said.
Individually, “Ebony Reddic has had a couple of hit games; and in the Heritage game, Meghan Fredenberg had a pretty good offensive game,” Mashburn said.
