Three decisive shutouts against “fairly good” competition kept the Bearden SoccerDawgs red-hot.

Wins against McMinn County (6-0), Soddy-Daisy (5-0) and Cleveland (3-0) in the championship game allowed BHS to capture the McMinn County tourney in Athens April 20-22.

Atop District 4-AAA unbeaten, the defending Class AAA state champs improved to 15-1 entering the week.

Individually, “Tom Webster was our key M-V-P for the tournament,” BHS head coach Eric Turner said of his junior forward. It was an outstanding effort on his part.”

Defensively, “Bryan Walker obviously had a great tournament in goal,” along with “Trevor Cook, Brandon Wyrick and Patrick Harmony.”

Against CHS, Webster, Ian Little and Ryan Campbell scored. Versus McMinn, Scott Heminway, Ryan Radcliffe, Cesar Ruiz, John Tabor, Webster and Campbell all scored.

Goals versus SDHS came from Alex Widmer, Nathan Zivi, Tabor, Heminway and Webster.
