Lewand, Pearson to wed
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lee Lewand Jr. of Oxford, Miss., announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Kathryn Lewand to Ashton Charles Pearson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ashton Charles Pearson Sr. of Knoxville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis L. Gerdes of Leland, Miss. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lee Lewand Sr. of Jacksonville, Fla.

She is a graduate of Jackson Preparatory School and the University of Mississippi where she earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in elementary education. She is a third-grade teacher at Oxford Elementary School.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. W. Carol Pearson of Natchez, Miss., Patricia F. Schroeder of Pompano Beach, Fla. and the late Edward F. Schroeder.

A 1999 graduate of Farragut High School, he received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in banking and finance from the University of Mississippi. He is employed by Bank of Oxford.

The couple will exchange wedding vows at 6 p.m., June 9, at Oxford-University United Meth-odist Church. A reception will follow at Oxford University Club. Following a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Oxford.


Morar, Schneider will marry in May
Ellen and Grant Morar of Farragut announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Sarah Morar, to Drew Eric Schneider, son of Nancy and Tony Schneider of Aiken, S.C.

Grandparents of the bride-to-be are Lillian Savage of Oak Ridge, the late H. Clifton Savage, Betty Morar of Vacaville, Calif. and the late George Morar.

Grandparents of the groom-to-be are Irene Saddler of Velpen, Ind., the late George Vaughn, Ruth Schneider of Huntingburg, Ind. and the late Norbert Schneider.

The bride-elect, a 2000 graduate of Farragut High School, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Clemson University in 2003 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The University of Tennessee in 2007.

She has accepted a position with Sea Island Animal Hospital in Beaufort, S.C.

The groom-elect, a 1999 graduate of South Aiken High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Clemson University in 2003.

He is employed as a teacher in Anderson County High School.

The wedding ceremony begins at 4 p.m., Sunday, May 27, 2007, at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church. After a honeymoon to Charleston, S.C, the couple will reside in Beaufort.
