Diamond champs at FMS


Farragut Middle School Varsity Baseball is 2007 Knox County champions after defeating West Valley 8-5 Wednesday, April 25. The Admirals finished the season 23-6 while posting a sizzling .407 team batting average. The 18-team double elimination tournament culminated a season that began in early March, as coach Jim Bradenís Admirals have now captured the middle school league title twice in its brief four-year history. The team posted a 5-1 record during the six-day tournament led by pitcher Derek Chandler with two wins plus an 0.64 earned run average. The Admirals scored 58 runs with four extra-base hits from Nicholas Summers, Daniel Huggins and Tyler Sutton. Nicky Delmonico and Phillip Barnwell connected for eight RBIs each.
