Itís Basham versus FHS grads at UT


Brett Basham, former Bearden High School standout catcher now starting behind the plate for SEC power Ole Miss, returns to Knox County this week.

The sophomore joins his No. 18-ranked Rebels (30-16, 12-9 in SEC) for a three-game series at UTís Lindsey Nelson Stadium Friday (7 p.m.) through Sunday, May 4-6, against the Vols (25-19, 8-11) and five former Farragut Admirals: starters Tony Delmonico, Cody Brown and Craig Cobb, plus Scott Dean and Bryan Powell.

Basham, sporting a .225 batting average (one homer, 21 RBIs), has thrown out 15-of-39 baserunners in 37 starts (41 total games played).
