FHS-CAK tie; Bearden-Ads again Friday?


Despite a 20-5 edge in shots-on-goal versus four-time defending Class A/AA state champion Christian Academy of Knoxville May 3, Farragut’s boys soccer team managed only a 1-1 tie.

Mitchell Ishmael scored for FHS (11-2-5 ending regular season), assisted by Jake Russell. David Pifer tallied for CAK (11-3-2).

Top-seeded Bearden, defending Class AAA state champ (19-1-0), is expected to reach the 4-AAA tourney title game and host No. 2 FHS at Bruce Allender Field Friday, May 11 (time not set).

Region 2-AAA tourney play (top two teams from District 3-AAA and 4-AAA), will be held Tuesday, May 15 (semifinals/times not set) and Thursday, May 17 (championship).

Substate. games are set for Saturday, May 19.
