BHS standout point Bailey off to Walters State

Allysia Bailey, All-District 4-AAA point guard who helped lead Bearden to one of its best girls basketball seasons in recent years, signed with Walters State Community College (Morristown) during a signing ceremony in BHS’s East Mall April 26.
Bearden head coach Nathan Hodges said after coaching Bailey his first two seasons as BHS skipper, “she made that transition easier, she was able to lead the other players — more by example than vocally.
“And at the same time was flexible as to what I was trying to do and changes I wanted to make.”
Bailey, 18, said Walters State “is a good program. Hopefully I’ll accomplish a lot my two years there and move on to N-C-A-A [Division] One.”
