Lawrence likes Maryville

Michael Lawrence, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound All-Region 2-5A quarterback at Farragut High School, signed National Letter of Intent papers with Maryville College during a signing ceremony late last month in the FHS Commons.
“He’s worked extremely hard, and certainly became one of our team leaders,” FHS head coach Eddie Courtney said of Lawrence, who led the Admirals to a 9-4 record and trip to the Class 5A state quarterfinals. “It was unfortunate that he had the shoulder injury during the playoffs because he had a great season. I know a goal of his has always been to play college football. ... I think it’s a good fit for him.”
