A 2006 Farragut High School graduate and accomplished golfer known for his happy-go-lucky personality has died in an accident.

Charles “Charlie” Hughes Holman, 19, died after reportedly falling three stories from a balcony at his Fort Sanders area apartment, 509 11th St., Saturday morning, June 10.

Known as a passionate golfer, Charlie’s four years as a standout FHS golfer was highlighted by winning the 2003 Region 2-AAA tournament as a sophomore. He also was Fox Den Country Club Junior Club champion three consecutive years (2003-2005).

“He was a good young man who, more than anything else, was always kind of a happy-go-lucky kid,” FHS golf head coach Mike Driver said. “Didn’t let a whole lot bother him. Kinda kept everybody loose on the team.
