Duncan, Barr to wed
The Rev. M. Alan and Andrea Duncan of Port Elizabeth, South Africa announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Betsy Kay Duncan, to Philip Nathaniel Barr, son of Richard and Sherry Barr of Knoxville.
She is the granddaughter of Marvin Ogle of Greeneville, the late Anice Ogle, Marshall and Julia Duncan of Knoxville and the late Margie Duncan. He is the grandson of Frank and Evelyn Watts of Knoxville, the late Bill Williams, Dora Jenell Barr of Memphis and the late William Barr.
The bride-elect, a 2003 graduate of Alexander Road High School, South Africa, will earn a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from The University of Tennessee in 2008.
The groom-elect, a 2004 graduate of Farragut High School, will earn a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from The University of Tennessee in 2008. He is currently employed as the youth director at John Sevier Baptist Church.
The wedding ceremony will be Saturday, July 7, 2007, at First Baptist Church, Powell. Following a honeymoon to Gatlinburg, the couple will reside in Knoxville.
