We like presstalk.

However, we find that hosting a anonymous public forum has its drawbacks along with its advantages.

The advantages are more geared to the public in that we provide a forum in which citizens can vent their frustrations or dissatisfaction with those from whom they may fear retribution.

Another advantage is that it provides us with an indication of how a portion of our readership is thinking and about what they are thinking.

We welcome your comments.

On the other hand, we have taken some (as in this week’s editon) criticism about our “Editor’s Note” comment that follows some call-ins.

Generally, the “Editor’s Note” is used to clarify or correct a matter of fact.

An example would be several callers in the past have quizzed why the town of Farragut hasn’t done something about the intersection of Concord Road and Northshore Drive.

The simple correction is that the intersection is not in the town of Farragut and thus not under its jurisdiction.

Similar comments have been made about Concord and The Cove parks, both of which are not in the town of Farragut.

Editor’s Notes will continue to be a part of presstalk and some can continue to complain. So be it.
